My new focus: Garbage memorabilia! pt.1

Well, further to my last post which was an overview of my collection, I figured I would do a new post with some specific focus on my new area of “obsession” - collecting the memorabilia from the various Garbage album eras.

There is just something really cool about the memorabilia that Garbage produced - the quirky packaging, funny concepts for items (”paranoid” condom anyone?) and generally just really aesthetically pleasing stuff! I think I would have to say that I have probably spent as much on memorabilia stuff as I would have on actual music formats like CDs, cassettes and vinyl…somewhere in that region at least.

Top 10 collectables from Japan Part 1

One of the nicest things about collecting records related to any band or artist is that there are always different pressings issued in different countries. For the majority of countries the designs never change that is apart from countries in the Far East, mainly due to the different alphabet that is used as a result the packaging will often get a complete overhaul making it look so much different to the same release issued in the USA or South Africa for example. Items from the Taiwan, Chinese and Japanese markets are typical of this and as a result there are some amazing items that have surfaced over the years from Japan in particular. In fact there are so many that this article was going to be the “Top 5 collectables from Japan” but I’ve changed it as I wanted to include a couple more.
