Here is some of my collection:
Unfortunately, lack of internet last year meant that my collecting was pretty much put on hold. I am really looking forward to getting back into it now. (more…)

My new focus: Garbage memorabilia! pt.4

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

So this is where in my opinion Garbage promotional material production started to fall apart really. Surely there are a few cool things that were produced in this era, but certainly nothing of the calibre of the other 3 eras. (more…)

I started collecting “Garbage” in 2007. But I bought my first single “Stupid Girl” in 2006. That makes Driving Lesson my first b-side! My main collection consist of singles but its growing to vinyl and memorabilia. (more…)

My new focus: Garbage memorabilia! pt.3

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

I would say that all Garbage album eras had great packaging, but some of the memorabilia items in the Beautiful Garbage era are just stunning. I think the combination of the font used and the single names meant that there was alot of room for funky ideas of packaging of memorabilia and promo items. I think also the seemingly more limited/hard to find nature of some of the items (compared to the V2.0 era) makes them that much more appealing, but at the same time that much more expensive….

My new focus: Garbage memorabilia! pt.2

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

In this post are my memorabilia items from Version 2.0 - which I think had some of the better items for promotion as this is when the Garbage Official Store was selling merchandise. There were some really cool items in this era, including great sticker sheets of the V2.0 symbols (all except You Look So Fine - as far as I am aware), mailers, really well packaged press kits and tons of other stuff. I forgot to put my posters , t-shirts and official calendar in this post, but everything else currently resides in my collection :)

My new focus: Garbage memorabilia! pt.1

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Well, further to my last post which was an overview of my collection, I figured I would do a new post with some specific focus on my new area of “obsession” - collecting the memorabilia from the various Garbage album eras.

There is just something really cool about the memorabilia that Garbage produced - the quirky packaging, funny concepts for items (”paranoid” condom anyone?) and generally just really aesthetically pleasing stuff! I think I would have to say that I have probably spent as much on memorabilia stuff as I would have on actual music formats like CDs, cassettes and vinyl…somewhere in that region at least.

My Collection

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

This is my Garbage collection. Ive been collecting properly since 2004/5 when I discovered ebay. Originally my intention was to merely collect all the singles for b-sides and rarities which by the time I got to university in 2004 was more or less fulfilled (missing one or two by then). I did have the UK VHS as well as the SE of bg which I thought had the most amazing packaging at the time - it was a sign I was starting to become a fully fledged fan buy buying an album I already owned for nothing more than glorified packaging.

My collection…with specifics on cassettes

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Here is my collection, the outcome of an ongoing 3 or so years of collecting (since early 2005).

This includes overall photos of my collection and how I store them, with a final specific photo of my cassette singles. There are some real rarities in there, including some cassettes that have never been seen before, or are only know to be in my possession at the moment! :)
